Yesterday's guest on Macke Live was my iconic long-time friend, Guy Adami. We started with behind-the-scenes War Stories from our experience as two of the founding cast members of CNBC's Fast Money. All-night commercial shoots, the constant threat of a fight breaking out, and the experience of being "America's post-close show of record", launched during the bull markets of 2006 and 2007 and ending, for me anyway, at the end of the Great Financial Crisis.
"It was a different time" doesn't quite cover it.
Guy shared his views on how financial media has changed since the testosterone-fueled early days of Fast, the future of trading markets and if he thinks the world is really falling apart or this is how it's always felt but now we have social media. We discuss hanging with Gene Simmons, singing a duet with Wayne Newton and who the smartest investor Guy has met over the years.
Guy has 45 years of experience on Wall Street. He's a rare combination of humility, brains and experience. As a kicker, he's a great friend and a genuine family man.
This is a must-watch, even if you avoid financial media as a rule.
