Trend Signal Now: My Mom Wants To Liquidate her IRA

I've been at this professionally for over 2 decades and not once has my mom ever called to ask me about the market. Not once, ever.

Last night she calls to tell me how everyone says we're going into a recession because of Trump and tariffs and she wants to liquidate her entire retirement account.

Again, she's never once asked me about the market.

I said to her, "Who is everyone?"

She tells me that it's all the "Financial experts on Instagram".

What am I supposed to tell my mom? She's so nice and not jaded about wall street like the rest of us.

The fear out there is real. Are you noticing?

Do markets normally crash when everyone tells you they're going to crash?

Just something to think about.

Look, price is the only thing that pays and that's what our main focus is right now, and always. If you missed this week's Good, Bad and the Ugly you can catch up here.

But these are the key levels for the S&P500.

If the S&P500 is below 5600, which is about 560 for $SPY, then that's a big problem for the direction of the market. Below 560 and this is not an uptrend, but a sideways trend at best, and possibly even a downtrend.

The Nasdaq100 $QQQ already broke that level and is still stuck below it. 500 is the equivalent level for the QQQs.

From a Macro perspective, it's interesting that we're not getting any volatility at all in the bond market, despite the destruction of the US Dollar.

Copper acting so strong is also not evidence of a major credit event out there, and I would argue even healthy for the overall state of the equities markets.

While China is made up these days of a bunch of Tech and Internet stocks, it's still trading a lot more with the price of Copper vs US Tech stocks.

Look at the new 18-month highs in China relative to the US:

Look at Baidu, which has not been participating at all in this rally.

Is it time for Baidu to play catch up?

Rotation rotation rotation.

There is what's called "Dispersion" across the markets right now, particularly from a macro perspective.

There are things working well and there are things not working at all, and even crashing down.

I'll leave you today with Bitcoin. This one is putting in a "potential" bullish momentum divergence.

But I'll tell you this: whenever potential divergences like this don't result in a reversal, look out below.
